I am reading all these articles about the issue of energy … actually, the lack of it … in Pakistan (but this issue is probably applicable to all the SAARC contries); and how and what the government is doing and I find it amazing that the government is not focusing on harnessing water to convert to energy.

A Wednesday — the film

I had an opportunity to watch “A Wednesday”, a very insightful and thought provoking film on the toll that “terrorism” takes on the common people. Governments generally do make all the right noises, but either they can’t or are unable to get down to the level of a “citizen” and understand what it does to a person and by extension, his or her family when their lives are disrupted or they are unable to make ends meet as a a result of bomb blasts and what have you. And nobody can really account for the insidious trauma that follows as a result of such incidents.
